Note: This product will be launched Summer 2019 in North America.


The WiFi Gateway is a wireless device used to connect compatible Codelocks smart locks to your WiFi network in conjunction with the K3 Connect app.  It can be used to manage and control locks remotely via the K3 Connect app without requiring a Bluetooth connection.



· A smart device running either Android version 4.3+ or an iPhone 4S or above running iOS 8.0+

· A compatible Codelocks smart lock

· IEEE 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz) wireless network

· WiFi SSID and password

· A strong and steady internet connection

· USB type A socket with a steady 5v power supply

Using the WiFi connection the gateway has the ability remotely to complete the following:
· Unlocking locks
· Set lock parameters and access restriction
· Client management—Phone, card and code
· Generate NetCodes
· Retrieve the lock’s audit
· Receive lock event notifications
· Check the lock’s current status


To install the WiFi gateway simply plug it into a steady power source (ie a wall socket with USB port) which has a minimum 2.4v power supply.

Important notes:

· Do not place the gateway within any type of container including boxes, cabinets and walls as this will block the device’s WiFi connection.

· Install the gateway more than 1 meter from your router.  If both devices are close to each other this may cause interference.

· The gateway should be installed no more than 5 meters from the locks, any more than this will likely cause a poor connection.

· The best connection can be obtained by installing both the lock and gateway in the same space with minimal walls, rooms etc between the two which could cause line-of-sight issues.

· Even though one gateway has the ability to control multiple locks we recommended using multiple gateways to guarantee a better range and service.

Operation Instructions

Before proceeding:  If you have not done so already, download the K3 Connect app and add the locks.  For more detailed instruction on how to do this check your lock’s programming and operation instructions or the K3 Connect user guide.

Note: You must be the lock’s administrator to add it to a gateway.          

1. When the gateway is initially plugged in the LED will remain red until it is fully powered up, this will take around 15 seconds.

2. Using the K3 Connect app, swipe left on the lock you would like to add, go to Info, scroll down to Gateway Management then Setup New Gateway.

3. Input your WiFi network’s name (SSID) and password when prompted. Once input select  Sync to Lock.

4. When prompted, using the pin (If lost, an unfolded paperclip will suffice) located in the gateway’s box, press the pinhole button. This will start the pairing process, a confirmation notification will be displayed on completion.

Note:  If you cannot locate the Gateway Management option, make sure both the lock’s firmware and app version is up to date.

Adding Additional Locks

        1. From the K3 Connect’s lock page swipe left on the lock in question and select Info, then Gateway Management and Use Existing Gateway.

        2. Select the Gateway you would like to add the lock to, this will start the pairing process, a confirmation will be displayed upon completion.

Factory Reset

1. Make sure the LED is not solid red before continuing.  See section 8 for reference.

2. Hold down the gateway’s button using the pin.  The LED will change to solid yellow, continue to hold down for 5 seconds until the LED turns off.

3. Release the button, the gateway is now set to factory settings.

Make sure your router is near to the gateway and is functioning correctly. Check in the K3 Connect app that your SSID (WiFi name) and password is correct too.

2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
